The sign "&" indicates that this concept applies to numeros daily doses estimates such as :  
  - Prescribed daily dose (PDD) 
  - Used daily dose (UDD) 
  - Defined daily dose (DDD) 
  - Assumed average maintenance dose per day (ADD-value). 
  - Other methods to estimate doses could be possible. 

The number of daily doses per animal are usualy specific to each monitoring system.  For example:   
  - Standardized weights for grow-finish pigs in the european system (ESVAC) is 65 kg. 
  - Standardized weights for grow-finish pigs in Canadian system (CIPARS) is 65 kg.
  - Standardized weights for finisher pigs in Danish system (VetStat) is 50 kg. 
  - Standardized weights for grower pigs in Danish system (VetStat) is 15 kg. 
  - Standardized weights for Pre-weaning pigs, Sows, Boars and gilts in Danish system (VetStat) is 15 kg. 

Canada does not yet have an official standard weight for nursery pigs and sows.  
Quebec and Ontario teams working on antibiotic use surveys in nurseries piglets have used a standardized weight og 11 kg.
